Aaron brings nearly 20 years of experience in city planning and urban design, neighborhood-scale sustainability and development, community health and equity, and their intersection with multi-modal transportation. Aaron has directed specific plans, corridor plans, community plans, design guidelines, zoning updates, station area plans, general plans, sustainability plans, bicycle and pedestrian plans, and healthy development initiatives. He also has extensive experience implementing sustainability in large development projects, cities, and institutions throughout the country, with direct technical consulting for the U.S. Green Building Council, LISC, the U.S. EPA, and over a dozen private sector development projects. Aaron is a skilled project manager with proven expertise in project scoping and budgeting, contract negotiations, project direction and strategy, creating project content, inter-agency coordination, and management of sub-consultants and internal staff teams. Prior to starting his own practice in 2019, Aaron was a key employee for 12 years at Raimi + Associates, where he was the first hire and helped build the firm to a staff of 25 people with a national reputation for promoting sustainability, health, and equity in planning. He is former chair of USGBC’s national Location and Planning Advisory Committee, is a founding member of TransForm’s GreenTrip Advisory Committee, has served as a facilitator at the annual EcoDistricts Incubator, and is an On-call Advisor for USGBC’s LEED for Cities program. Aaron is currently serving as the Planning Practice Leader for the InCity Summer Institute at UC Berkeley, where he has been on faculty since 2016.
