Generous alumni and friends of LAEP have established three impactful, permanent endowments – the Joelle Johnson Triebsch Memorial Scholarship, the Ron Herman Scholarship and the Horst Schach Graduate Fellowship – to benefit the department’s students.

Alan Ricks, founding Principal and Chief Design Officer of the award-winning MASS Design Group will be the Spring 2023 Lifchez Visiting Professor of Practice in Social Justice. 

Gerard “Roddy” Creedon was a beloved Architecture Lecturer who helped shape the Architecture undergraduate and professional programs over his nearly three decades at CED.

Dhaemers served as head of the Department of Design from 1974-1976 before chairing the campus’ visual design program and then heading the Visual Studies Committee for almost twenty years. Dhaemers, a gifted photographer and creative, died on Tuesday, July 26, 2022, in Novato, Calif.

On September 30th, fifteen Abbey MRED+D students (almost half of the thirty-six student cohort) competed in Ivory Innovations’ Hack-A-House competition, with one team winning first place in their category.
