Jérôme Martel
Montréal, Québec, Canada
Real Estate Broker, Royal Lepage Urbain
Real estate has always been an important part of Jérôme’s life, as he’s worked in all aspects of real estate, namely construction, renovation, maintenance, rental, and management since the age of 16. Upon graduating from business school in 2019 with a major in finance at HEC Montréal, Jérôme’s desire to enhance his skills in real estate finance led him to work as a financial analyst on construction and commercial real estate projects at Desjardins, one of Canada’s largest banks.
After gaining important experience at Desjardins, he decided to work for Devbo, a real estate investor and developer, as a construction and renovation project manager, to spend more time in the field and learn about project management and construction. During this time, Jérôme also obtained his real estate broker’s license. He specializes in the purchase and sale of residential multiplexes and also acts as a consultant and independent property manager.
With the MRED+ D program, he is seeking to develop his skills in urban planning, architecture, design, and land development to be in the best educational position to undertake larger-scale projects. Although he has gained substantial experience playing key roles working for small-/medium-sized businesses, his career goal is to have an impact on larger-scale capital projects. He specifically wants to be an active participant in bringing about meaningful and constructive change in the urban development of the city of Montréal and the Bay Area.
On a personal level, Jérôme is an endurance athlete, participating in marathons and triathlons. He will be tackling his fourth marathon this year (Chicago 2024!). He enjoys spending time with friends through sports, specifically soccer and hockey, and enjoys discovering new cultures through travel.
