Bio

Janina Dautert-Foerster is a passionate international real estate professional who joins the Abbey MRED+D program after earning a Bachelor of Science in Real Estate from Nuertingen-Geislingen University in Germany, where she developed her passion for sustainability and interest in urban real estate development.

Her academic path was laid on a foundation of practical experience gained from an apprenticeship at a Germany property management company, which ignited her passion for greener management practices. With roles as an assistant property manager and assistant to a real estate broker, Janina accumulated several years of real estate expertise.

Living in London for 3.5 years provided Janina with the opportunity to gain an international perspective. She witnessed cultural influences on real estate and lifestyles, expanding her horizon beyond Germany to an international scale. This experience broadened her perspective, setting the stage for her move to the Bay Area.

Janina’s decision to enroll in the MRED+D program reflects her commitment to fostering sustainable, resilient, and innovative urban environments. She is eager to collaborate interdisciplinarily and advocate for sustainability and human-centered design, aiming to contribute to housing solutions.

Outside of her professional pursuits, Janina is actively engaged in her child’s school community. She enjoys traveling and learning from different cultures. She spends her free time with friends exploring new coffee places and restaurants, hiking, dancing, and spending quality time with her family.
