Felipe is an architect and real estate developer from Chile who joins the MRED+D program at UC Berkeley with more than ten years of experience in developing large-scale residential projects in his home country. He earned his architecture degree from Universidad Católica de Chile, a prestigious university recognized globally for its architectural education excellence. Influenced by his experiences during his studies, Felipe began his career with a commitment to creating quality residential architecture for those less fortunate.
He is the founder of RTU Architects and Conquista Real Estate Development, managing more than 80 projects that have contributed to societal transformation through architecture and real estate development. As a developer, he has led projects encompassing more than 6 million square feet and more than 7,000 residential units, resulting in sales exceeding 550 million USD. Through these endeavors, he has acquired an extensive understanding of the design and development process in Chile.
Now aiming to broaden his professional horizons, Felipe seeks to enhance his expertise through UC Berkeley’s MRED+D program. This program is renowned for integrating design excellence with practical development skills. Felipe’s goal is to apply the knowledge and skills he acquires to expand his businesses beyond Chile and enhance his capabilities, complementing his existing skill set with a robust curriculum to become a more proficient architect and developer.
In his free time, Felipe enjoys traveling with his wife and three children. He is also an aspiring chef, an experienced golfer, and an enthusiastic skier, with a passion for sports in various forms.
