MRED+D Careers + Professional Development
An Abbey MRED+D degree opens the door to a wide range of networking events and exciting career opportunities in real estate development. Our goal is not only to provide rigorous professional education and training, but also to offer ample opportunities to explore career pathways, build industry connections, and engage with our active alumni network. As an Abbey MRED+D student, you’ll be supported by our dedicated director of career and professional development who’ll help you identify and pursue your professional goals.

About MRED+D’s Career Program
Abbey MRED+D students benefit from access to exceptional practitioner faculty and guest lecturers — industry leaders who shape the field, bring real-world insight directly into the classroom, and play a key role in helping students understand different career pathways after graduation.
Additionally, the Berkeley Real Estate Club (BREC) offers MRED+D students the opportunity to connect with a wide range of graduate students across campus who share an interest in real estate. The club hosts a variety of professional development events, networking opportunities, and industry engagements throughout the year.
After graduation, Abbey MRED+D students join the Berkeley Real Estate Alumni Association (BREAA), an extensive network of Berkeley alums working in real estate across the Bay Area, the U.S., and internationally. BREAA includes graduates from the College of Environmental Design, Haas School of Business, Berkeley Law, and other programs.

“If you want to study affordable housing, Berkeley is the place.” —Christopher Frye (MRED+D 2025)
