Design Studios
Our studio courses form the core of a design education and are taught in spaces modeled after the collaborative workspaces of professional design firms. This is where you’ll spend most of your time, both in class and after hours, creating your projects alongside other students in your studio section.
Floors 3 to 9 of the Bauer Wurster Hall Tower are devoted to open-plan design studios illuminated by a wall of north-facing windows and with views out over the courtyard, campus, and the Golden Gate. If you’re enrolled in a studio course, you’ll have your own dedicated workspace with storage for the semester. Studio floors are supplied with computers and plotters, material recycling stations, pin-up walls, and meeting and classroom spaces — and at the back of the the sixth floor you’ll find two spray booths. CED students enrolled in a studio course have 24-hour keycard access to their studio for the semester.
