Sara Wineman
Essexville, MI, USA
Project Manager, HOK
Sara joins the MRED+D program with more than eight years of interior design and project management experience. After earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design from The George Washington University, Sara worked as an Interior Designer at Sunrise Senior Living. Sunrise served as an initiation to the design process, with an emphasis on detail while adhering to Sunrise’s broader design strategy. She returned to her roots in commercial design at SAA, where her project team of two was challenged to design unique spaces for developers with low-to-mid sized budgets. Before joining the MRED+D program, Sara was a Project Manager at HOK, leading projects for high-profile, commercial clients.
At UC Berkeley, Sara hopes to hone new skills in business management, real estate finance, urban development, and to learn how to advance sustainable design to better support communities. After completing the program, she aims to work for a developer that prioritizes communities and sustainable, purposeful design.
On a personal level, Sara is a huge foodie, enjoys traveling with her husband, spending time with her two dogs, hiking, knitting, gardening, and reading a great book. Fun fact: Sara is working on exploring all the US National Parks, and her favorites have included Acadia NP and Voyageurs NP.
