Omeed Ansari
Pleasantville, NY, USA
Senior Associate, Dentons Global Advisors
Omeed joins UC Berkeley’s MRED+D program after almost eight years in Washington, D.C., where he attended university and worked in government relations and policy.
Omeed’s introduction to and interest in the real estate and housing space was unplanned. As an undergraduate at American University studying international relations and business, Omeed picked up experiences where he knew he wanted to work in the government relations and policy space. After graduating in 2020 amid the COVID-19 pandemic, he landed a role as a Government Relations and Strategy Analyst at Amherst Residential, a vertically-integrated real estate investment, development, and operating platform.
While at Amherst, Omeed became passionate about housing policy and the impact housing has on all aspects of life. At Amherst, his team worked with local and federal officials on public-private partnership opportunities, provided federal and state government relations support in the coordination and execution of the firm’s initiatives, and helped shape internal strategies with a governmental and policy lens. Omeed also worked at Dentons Global Advisors, where he provided public affairs support to an array of clients in multiple industries.
At UC Berkeley’s MRED+D program, Omeed is excited to learn more about financing and construction, along with learning new skills in market analysis, architecture, and design. He is excited to bring his experience in housing policy to the cohort and is ready to learn from his professors and classmates.
Omeed loves to bring people together, whether it is through cooking, music, or films. He enjoys traveling, reading, playing sports, and rooting for his native New York sports teams.
