Join us for a talk with distinguished Mexican architect Gabriela Carrillo, whose work emphasizes dignity in space and social transformation through design. Her work consistently demonstrates a commitment to improving quality of life through architecture.

About the Speaker

Gabriela Carrillo is founder of Taller Gabriela Carrillo and Colectivo C733, and an academic at the Faculty of Architecture at National Autonomous University of Mexico (NAUM), where she has demonstrated exceptional skill in collaborative architecture, including an innovative public infrastructure initiative for cities throughout Mexico. Her approach has been recognized with numerous awards, including the highest recognition for professional practice by the Faculty of Architecture at National Autonomous University of Mexico and the Médaille d’OR from the French Academy of Architecture.
Carrillo was named “Architect of the Year” by Architectural Review in London in 2017 and was granted The Royal Academy Dorfman Award 2023. As part of Colectivo C733, she received the 2024 Obel Award for achieving 36 public projects in 36 months. In addition to NAUM, Carrillo has taught at Harvard, Kent State University, and the WAVE program in Venice. Her work has been exhibited and honored in various national and international biennials, and featured in publications including: Domus, Casabella, Arquitectura Viva, and Architectural Review.
