Jewel Nguyen graduated magna cum laude from California State University, Long Beach, as the College of Business’s Outstanding Undergraduate Student. Her economics internship helped her build a strong understanding of market dynamics, while her digital media marketing experience sharpened her skills in communicating complex ideas to diverse audiences.
At the start of her MRED+D program, Jewel balanced her coursework while gaining practical experience through internships with Valiance Capital and The Berkeley Group. She gained hands-on exposure to value-add and student housing projects, where she worked closely with property management teams and contributed to initiatives aimed at enhancing asset performance. Jewel plans to leverage her skills in cultivating strategic relationships to pursue a career that bridges investor relations and brokerage. Long-term, she aims to apply her insights to developing her own projects, focusing on the creation of well-functioning, sustainable, and walkable communities.
At UC Berkeley, Jewel serves as Vice President of Community, Social, and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) for the Berkeley Real Estate Club (BREC). She fosters collaboration among students from diverse graduate programs, organizes networking events, and engages industry professionals to strengthen connections within the real estate community. She is also an active member of ULI, ICSC, and NAIOP.
Outside of her professional pursuits, Jewel enjoys immersing herself in diverse cultures and learning how to golf with MRED+D classmates. Her six-month exchange program in Madrid during her undergraduate years cultivated her appreciation for urban design and picturesque landscapes. Now based in the Bay Area, Jewel is committed to making a meaningful impact in real estate.
