Project Manager, Canny Arquitectos
Joaquín Guerrero Elías is a Peruvian architect with six years of work experience in design and project management in Lima, Peru. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree and Professional Title as Architect at the Peruvian University of Applied Sciences (UPC). Due to his concern for Lima’s various urban problems, he decided to reduce the educational infrastructure deficit in the city of Lima for his thesis. The project was to sustainably help a school’s infrastructure on two hectares of land in a developing district outside Lima.
He has work experience as a freelance architect and project manager for almost three years, designing and developing six remodeling projects. For the past three years he has been a project manager at a property development company, where he has coordinated four projects: a five-story residential building, a six-story sustainable residential building, a seven-story social housing building, and the remodeling of an office.
Because of his work experience, he became more interested in the property business and took the Real Estate Economics and Finance eight-week course at London School of Economics. With the MRED+D at UC Berkeley, Joaquín wants to improve his skills in Real Estate Development finance and economics, construction project management, land law, market analysis and architecture and urban design. He plans to focus his career on sustainable affordable housing projects.
In his free time, Joaquín enjoys cooking and travelling around the globe.
