The Pollinator Cities Project documents efforts to support pollinators (such as bees, butterflies, insects, fruit bats, etc.), and documents the range of their activities. The results include a typology of pollinator policies or projects in cities around the world, which may differ according to their auspices (public, private, nonprofit/NGO), the activities they mandate or support (education, habitat creation, citizen-science, home-based or business apiaries, etc.), geographic dimensions (such as bee “highways,” stepping stone habitats, green roofs/walls), and specific strategies for supporting pollinators and engaging the community. In addition, the project provides a set of case studies of urban innovative pollinator programs.
