Semar Prom

Manages the college's Fabrication unit: the Fabrication Shop, Digital Fabrication Lab, and the CED Material Store. Provide academic support to CED students and faculty, including instructions of materials, methods, and supervision in the wood+metal shop and digital fabrication lab. Develops and implements safety and basic use policies and practices; trains the trainers; is responsible for campus, state and federal compliance requirements. Coordinates the internal design-builds in the CED facilities. Coordinates summer workshop program.

Semar graduated from UC Davis in Fine Arts and Art History. In addition to his role at CED, he is a practicing artist, designer, and person of all trades specializing in custom fabrication services. Besides UC Berkeley, Semar has worked at other educational institutions including the Academy of Art and the California College for the Arts.
