Marisha Farnsworth
BIOGRAPHY
Marisha Farnsworth is an artist, licensed architect, and developer whose work explores the social and ecological dimensions of materiality in the built environment. Focusing on California forests, her research investigates how climate change is reshaping material flows and proposes new ways to integrate these resources into architectural practice. She directs O2 Artisans Aggregate, a 2.25-acre adaptive reuse development in West Oakland that explores the intersection of ecology and craft, and co-founded Forestree Collective, a company that develops uses for wood from fuel load reduction projects. Her work has been exhibited at Yerba Buena Center for the Arts and the Venice Biennale, and is held in the collection of the Nevada Museum of Art.
