Transportation policy, transportation equity, global south
"There should be no obstacles to accessing knowledge." –Alexandra Elbakyan
I am currently a PhD student in the Department of City and Regional Planning at the University of California, Berkeley. Prior to this, I served as the Transport Planning Director at the Belo Horizonte Urban Mobility Superintendence and worked as a Research Assistant at the Institute of Applied Economic Research (Ipea). My career also includes a role as an Urban Mobility Researcher at the Center for Politics and Economics in the Public Sector Studies of Getulio Vargas Foundation (CEPESP-FGV), where I contributed to projects funded by the World Bank, Inter-American Development Bank (IADB), United Kingdom Prosperity Fund, United Nations Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (UNECLAC), and São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP).
Additionally, I was involved in research at the Center of Studies in Infrastructure Regulation (CERI) of Getulio Vargas Foundation (CERI-FGV) on projects funded by the United Kingdom Prosperity Fund and the Brazilian Federal District Government. I also served as an advisor to the Under-Secretary of Transports of the State of Rio de Janeiro.
In 2023, I was honored with the Master's Thesis Award in Transportation Geography by the American Association of Geographers. I hold a Master's degree in Transportation Engineering (Cities and Mobilities) and a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Transportation Engineering, both from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (PET-COPPE/UFRJ).
