Sustainable transportation policy; travel behavior; mode choice and emerging mobility services.
Andrea Broaddus is a transportation planning expert whose work spans the transportation policies, technologies, and behaviors that shape how people and goods move through cities. She has published more than 20 peer-reviewed articles on microtransit, shared mobility, autonomous vehicle demand forecasting, road tolling and congestion pricing, low-emissions policies, and comparative land use and transport planning frameworks for regional sustainability.
Broaddus’s experience includes leading applied research at Ford Motor Company's Research and Advanced Engineering division in Palo Alto, California, where she developed a $2 million research portfolio in partnership with faculty at MIT, Cornell, Ohio State, and UC Berkeley and led a Department of Energy–funded microtransit pilot with King County Metro in Seattle. Earlier in her career, she worked as a transportation consultant at Nelson\Nygaard and as a transportation policy advocate in Washington, D.C. Her international work includes projects with the German development agency GIZ and the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation on energy efficiency and sustainable transport.
