Out of the Wild and Into the Garden: Documenting Native Plants in Contemporary & Historical Gardens features a selection of giclee prints of herbarium specimens from the Greenberg Garden alongside historical documentation of UC Berkeley’s Blake Garden, original drawings by landscape architects Beatrix Farrand and Gertrude Jekyll, and related specimens from the University and Jepson Herbaria. The exhibition also includes selected pressed plant compositions created by gardener Katherine Greenberg, author of the second edition of Growing California Native Plants (UC Press, 2012).
Out of the Wild and Into the Garden: Documenting Native Plants in Contemporary and Historical Gardens is on view May 1–September 1, 2025 in the Judith Stronach / Raymond Lifchez Exhibit Cases at the College of Environmental Design Library. Free and open to the public during regular library hours.
