Alan Ribera
Alan E. Ribera received his first BA from the University of California, Berkeley in Political Science and a second in Landscape Architecture. Ribera specialized in parks and recreational planning, including city-wide park systems and master planning, and often worked with associate John C. Sue. In addition to landscape and park design, Ribera began sculpting in 1964 and in subsequent years created numerous large-scale sculptural forms within his park designs. The Alan E. Ribera collection consists primarily of project photographs and slides. These images depict Ribera’s designs for various parks and recreational settings and their use by the general public. Parks throughout California are represented in the collection. A small file of promotional photographs and printed material is also included.
