BIOGRAPHY
Huang Wenjing, AIA, is a founding partner of OPEN Architecture. She served as a Kenzo Tange Design Critic in Architecture at the Harvard University Graduate School of Design in 2023. Huang received her BArch from Tsinghua University in 1996 and MArch from Princeton University in 1999.
Huang was named one of the “50 under 50: Innovators of the 21st Century,” and 2022 Wallpaper* China Design Awards, Designer of the Year. Huang has taught at various institutions, including the Harvard Graduate School of Design, Tsinghua University, China Central Academy of Fine Arts, and the University of Hong Kong. The publications co-authored by Huang and Hu Li and on their works include Reinventing Cultural Architecture: A Radical Vision by OPEN (2022), OPEN Questions (2018), Towards Openness (2018), and OPEN Reaction (2015).
Based in Beijing, OPEN Architecture is an acclaimed architecture office that collaborates across different disciplines to practice architectural, urban, landscape, and interior design. Its recent built works include the Sun Tower, UCCA Dune Art Museum, the Chapel of Sound, Tank Shanghai, and Shanfeng Academy.
