Zoë Scheffy
Provides general administrative support for faculty, students, and staff: strategy and planning, budgets, finance, human resources, student services, facilities and instructional support. Develops plans for administrative, academic, instructional and outreach programs and represents the department. Supervises department staff.
In the role of Department Manager of IURD, Zoë has come full circle in the wandering path that is life. She started in IURD as a work study student while completing her B.A. in Anthropology at UC Berkeley. Alongside earning her M.A. and Ph.D. in Folklore from Indiana University, ethnographic field research in Sweden with Sámi artists, and balancing a growing family, she worked at the Haas School of Business for eight years in budget and finance, first as the Manager of Accounting and Personnel, and then as a Budget Analyst in the Dean's Office. Passionate about amplification of underrepresented voices, textile arts, and the continuing relevance of traditional arts and crafts, Zoë has most recently contributed her operational expertise, writing, and personal creativity to the work of Sacred Land Film Project and A Verb for Keeping Warm.
