Bio

Dylan De Prosperis joins UC Berkeley’s MRED+D program from Rome, Italy. Dylan grew up in a rich environment, both historical and contemporary. He drew inspiration from the architectural marvels of Rome while absorbing experience from his father’s construction company, Ecologic House, and his mother’s pioneering endeavors as a Professor of Psychology of Art at the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome.

Raised in a dynamic setting, Dylan developed a multifaceted and resilient approach to the learning process. He studied Art, Sciences, Humanities and Languages for over fifty hours per week at the esteemed Liceo Scientifico Azzarita. Every single day after school, since the age of four, Dylan has devoted himself to his passion for golf. Balancing studies and athletic endeavors allowed him to earn a spot on the Italian National Team for seven consecutive years, from 2013 to 2020. Playing golf, Dylan began traveling around the world and discovered the beauty of international architecture, particularly in Miami, Florida.

In 2020, Dylan secured his place into the prestigious Division 1 Golf Team at Saint Mary’s College of California and made a life-changing decision to live in the United States. At Saint Mary’s, he earned a Bachelor of Science in Economics with a concentration in Sustainability in May 2024. During his college experience, he expanded his interests to include urban economics, real estate development, and sustainability in the built environment. His capstone research—“Retrofit Technologies to Reverse Global Warming: A New ERA (Energy Retrofit Accelerator) for California Homes”—focuses on technical and policy solutions to minimize the carbon footprint of residential buildings in California.

Joining the University of California, Berkeley, Dylan will apply analytical economic skills to real estate development and delve into finance, design and building construction in the United States. He is excited to take part in the 2024-2025 MRED+D cohort and to delve into sustainable and equitable development. His desire is to craft unique design and architectural aesthetics with environmental consciousness. After the MRED+D program, Dylan envisions expanding his family’s construction enterprise in the U.S. with a focus on sustainability.

In his leisure time, Dylan enjoys expressing his artistic side by practicing conceptual painting, composing minimalist piano pieces and exploring natural wonders by hiking and fishing in different countries.
