Avery Dean
Atlanta, GA, USA
Development Associate, Terwilliger Pappas
Avery Dean joins the UC Berkeley MRED+D program after three years of professional experience in developing multifamily apartments across North and South Carolina. Avery has been responsible for overseeing every aspect of the development process, from identifying new opportunities and negotiating the PSA with the land seller to constructing and maintaining detailed financial reprojections of all active projects in the region. Most recently, there were five projects under construction in the Carolinas that total over $250M in total investment.
Avery is passionate about the design aspect of development and is most looking forward to honing and refining his creative side. He has experience managing design consultants during the predevelopment and construction phases of his projects but is eager to develop his own design skillset.
Avery is also an advocate for affordable housing, frequently volunteering with Habitat for Humanity. His goal is to leverage his education as part of the MRED+D program to design and develop dynamic affordable and market-rate housing across the country.
In his free time, Avery prioritizes being outdoors, whether it is skiing, surfing, biking, or anything in between. He also is an avid Atlanta sports fan, which is quite challenging, and loves exploring new places.
