Student Work
2019-20, ARCH 102A/B – HTS Capstone Projects
History, Theory, and Society (HTS) was designed for students to explore architecture and urbanism through broad intellectual frameworks, in time and place. This one-year research and writing-based capstone program emphasized contemporary social theory; historical, architectural, and cultural analyses. It offered many opportunities to collaborate and receive feedback through experimental exercises, themed workshops, informal pin-up/working sessions, and regular presentations. Students were asked to engage with research findings, compare historical and theoretical issues, address common challenges, and discuss and critique the work of their peers.
