CED Technology Use Fees
CED's instructional technologies include the Fabrication Shop and Digital Fabrication Lab (including a Shop Yard and Paint Booth), and the Computer Labs (includes all aspects of computing from networking, to printing/plotting, to rendering farms). The focus of these facilities and staff is to support instructional activities, maintain equipment, plan for future educational requirements and improvements, and to oversee adherence to Federal and State laws as well as campus policies.
The Shop, Digital Lab, and Computing facilities are fee-based activities supported 25% by state funds, 45% by student use fees, and 30% by other funds. As a policy, fees are not automatically increased each year. However costs are reviewed annually and, on occasion, fees are adjusted (up or down) in response to the Campus and College budget.
There is an undergrad fee waiver scholarship for students who meet the eligibility requirement. Learn more about this scholarship here.
Student Technology Center (#477)
Students interaction with technologies generally starts at the Student Technology Center located at 477 Wuster Hall (south tower). This is the area where students pay fees, sign up for access to the building or facilities within Wurster, and request refunds. In many instances, this is also the place that can help direct students to the proper places that exist at CED or on campus to support students. The Center is open Monday through Friday from 9am to 5pm with a break for lunch; it is closed on campus holidays, and occasionally will close for administrative activities such as staff meetings, retreats, and campus events.
