It is with the greatest and most profound sadness that I write to inform our community of the passing of Gerard "Roddy" Creedon. Rossy passed away on Sunday, December 5th, 2021. He was at home, surrounded by family and loved ones.

Today, Campus has announced that Renee Y. Chow, celebrated architect, professor and chair of the Department of Architecture has accepted their offer to become the College of Environmental Design's next Dean, beginning on November 9, 2021.

It is with great sadness that The College of Environmental Design announces the death of Norma Evenson, Professor Emerita of the Departments of Architecture and Art History.

The College of Environmental Design mourns the loss of Martin Wachs, beloved and celebrated Professor of City and Regional Planning and of Civil and Environmental Engineering at UC Berkeley, where he directed the Institute of Transportation Studies.

Immersed in this context of constant testing we digest the news that Derek Chauvin is now a convicted murderer who mercilessly stole the life of George Floyd on the streets of our communities. A jury finally did the right thing.
