
Nicolás Maruri
Nicolás Maruri founded the office amann-canovas-maruri in 1987, registered as company under the name of Temperaturas Extremas Arquitectos SLP, together with Atxu Amann and Andrés Cánovas. They have focused on intervention on historical heritage and housing blocks reconfiguration, according to contemporary public space and urban issues.
Their most recent exhibitions were held at the AA in London; NAI Rotterdam; IIT Chicago; Arizona CAPLA,; the Venice Biennale; Cervantes Institute in Rio, Sao Paulo, Paris, Rome and New York; AEDES Gallery in Berlin, RIBA in London, and in many schools and associations of architecture in Spain. Their work has been published in more than 300 magazines and books worldwide.
Maruri is professor in the Departamento de Proyectos Arquitectónicos at ETSAM and director of the research group ARKRIT.
Maruri is partner at Temperaturas Extremas, which has received more than 150 national and international awards, such as Best State Subsidized Housing Block by Government of Madrid, Best Architectural Proposal by the Government of Murcia, First Prize Biennale Zaragoza, National Housing Award, and National Award for Preservation of Archeological Heritage 2012. In 2018, they curated the Spanish Pavilion of the Biennale di Venezia.
Temperaturas Extremas's work has been published in more than 300 magazines and books worldwide.
