Summer Salon: Creative Expression and Imagination with Chip Sullivan
ASLA-NCC is excited to announce a summertime series of free, participatory webinars on the topic of Creativity! Our first workshop will be led by Chip Sullivan (“the original landscape cartoonist”) who will demonstrate an easy-to-follow process for participants to make their own unique Pop-Up Garden. All you need is a cool idea for a landscape you’d like to see come to life through the art of paper engineering! A list of materials, as well as step-by-step instructions and a template will be provided upon registration. Let’s keep our creative community thriving while we shelter-in-place!
Chip Sullivan is an artist and professor of landscape architecture at UC Berkeley who has devoted his career to promoting landscape architecture as an art form. Sullivan is the author of many popular titles in the profession, including Drawing the Landscape, and Garden & Climate. His latest book, Cartooning the Landscape, concerns the metaphysics of drawing and learning how to ‘see.’ Chip is a Fellow of the American Academy in Rome, the Council of Educators in Landscape Architecture, the MacDowell Colony, and the Rockefeller Foundation. He received the 2016 Jot D. Carpenter Teaching Medal from the ASLA.
The zoom event link will be sent to your email upon registration along with a list of supplies and instructions..
