Please join the UC Berkeley Master of Real Estate Development + Design program for our Fall 2019 Distinguished Visiting Fellow Talk with Lydia Tan, interviewed by Carol Galante, I. Donald Terner Distinguished Professor in Affordable Housing and Urban Policy and the Faculty Director of the Terner Center for Housing Innovation. The talk is a part of MRED+D's Fall 2019 Prospective Student Open House.
Lydia Tan is Managing Director, Real Estate for the Oakland Athletics, where she leads efforts to build the Team’s new Howard Terminal ballpark and mixed-use district, and redevelop the Oakland Coliseum site. Prior to joining the A’s, Tan was Senior Vice President and U.S. Head of Development at Bentall Kennedy, one of North America’s largest real estate investment advisors.
Tan has additional experience launching Related California’s Northern California office, focusing on affordable and mixed income, mixed use developments throughout the Bay Area. She was also the Executive Vice President at BRIDGE Housing Corporation, where she led teams focused on income and affordable housing communities, as well as large scale redevelopment efforts throughout California.
She serves as a board member of a number of non-profit organizations including the S.H. Cowell Foundation and SPUR. She holds a B.A. in Architecture from University of California, Berkeley and a MBA from Stanford University. She is a Registered Architect in California.
