1st Annual CED Day of Service
Join us in building a community of care by working side by side, across departments, and for the benefit of communities and ecosystems in our own backyard.
Our hope is to make this an annual event, beginning with contributions to the ongoing restoration efforts along Strawberry Creek.

Under the expert guidance of EH&S Environmental Protection Specialist Tim Pine, the Strawberry Creek Restoration Program Volunteers, and our very own Professor of Landscape Architecture and Environmental Planning Matt Kondolf, we will spend the morning clearing invasive species along the creek, planting natives, and repairing a dilapidated irrigation system.
In anticipation of a great event this year, I also ask that you send me your ideas for next year’s 2023 CED Day of Service in support of a local community or organization beyond our campus.
Not only will this day be fun, it will underscore some of the goals of the College: that the outside world sees CED as a place committed to giving back and that within CED, we can roll up our sleeves and enjoy each others’ company across the departments and degree programs.
So mark your calendars! Coffee, bagels, and a free CED baseball cap (for the first 150 volunteers) will be available. Students, faculty and staff are all welcome. We look forward to spending this October morning with you!
More details and sign up info to come.
With warm regards,
Renee
