Associate professor Jason Corburn recently published an opinion piece in the UK Guardian on healthy and equitable cities. According the piece health, equity, and sustainability must be "linked goals" in the 21st century with emphasis on an integrated approach to healthier cities. Corburn's new book Healthy City Planning: From Neighbourhood to National Health Equity will be released in April 2013 by Routledge Press, UK. The book explores the histories of planning and public health and how practices in African, South American and North American cities are attempting to reconnect health equity and urban development through a combination of grassroots social movements and national policy making.
