Professor Emeritus of City + Regional Planning Michael Dear discusses some of his research from the book "Why Walls Won't Work: Repairing the US-Mexico Divide" in this interview by Arizona Public Media's Nancy Montoya for NPR.
Professor Dear considers the concept that border walls become a reality because of a failure of diplomacy and as a result they do not work. Nancy Montoya also interviews Green Valley resident Gary Meiner. Miner is on the citizen's advisory board for the Nogales Border Patrol Station and provides a counterpoint to Professor Dear.
