Vicki Elmer (Ph.D. ‘91) and co-author Adam Leigland (M.C.P. '02) have recently released a non-technical guide for students and local practitioners to the engineering, planning, and financing of major infrastructure projects in the United States, Infrastructure Planning and Finance: A Smart and Sustainable Guide (Routledge 2013). The book provides step-by-step guidance and a broad overview of the technical, political, and economic challenges of creating lasting infrastructure in the 21st century.
Infrastructure Planning and Finance is available for pre-order through Routledge and is also available for the Kindle. Vicki was a lecturer for a number of years at the College and is Director of the Oregon Leadership in Sustainability (OLIS) Center at the University of Oregon. She was previously Planning Director and Public Works Director for the City of Berkeley.
