CED's 2019 Summer [IN]STITUTE has extended the application deadline for [IN]LAND, a summer intensive in landscape architecture designed for participants without previous design experience who are considering graduate work in the landscape architecture discipline.
This summer's [IN]LAND teaching team is comprised of Academic Lead Noah Levy of CMG Landscape Architecture, Studio Instructor Derek Lazo and Media Instructor Tyler Mohr of Surfacedesign, and Graduate Student Assistant Molly Butcher from the LAEP program.
The program develops foundational skills across a variety of media, from photo-editing to portfolio-making to digital form-finding. Throughout the program, site visits enhance students' understanding of the studio projects; media sessions develop their digital and analog representation skills; the lecture series exposes participants to academics and practitioners; and seminars meet to discuss lectures and readings, providing a critical and theoretical foundation for the studio and media work.
[IN]LAND will also cross-pollinate with the other three [IN]STITUTE cohorts - [IN]CITY, [IN]ARCH and [IN]ARCH ADV during events that emphasize the interdisciplinarity of the environmental design discipline.
Admissions are conducted on a rolling basis, and applications are reviewed in the order in which they are received until the program reaches capacity. We encourage prospective students to submit their application early.
