For Women's History month The Berkeley Daily Planet featured a short essay on alumna Julia Morgan (B.S. Civil Engineering 1894) by Sandhya Sood AIA (M.Arch '99). Julia Morgan is California's first licensed woman architect with more than 700 buildings under her name. Morgan was also recently inducted in the UC Berkeley Hall of Fame and was named one of eighteen honorees of the National Women's History project ("Women Inspiring Innovation Through Imagination: Celebrating Women in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics") this year. Morgan's contributions to the architectural heritage of America will continuously be celebrated and remembered.
