The Department of Architecture is pleased to announce the recipients of the Fall 2013 Architecture Prizes & Awards:
CHF Aram Bassenian Fellowship
Awarded to an M.Arch student involved in building or construction related programs, and is considering a career within building or construction. The Fellowship is sponsored by the California Homebuilding Foundation, and was established in 2012 by Aram Bassenian, AIA (B.A. Architecture, 1966), Chairman & CEO of Bassenian Lagoni Architects in Southern California.

Design Workshops Prize in Practical Construction
Promotes the use of technology and create a focus on the practical aspects of construction. Awarded annually since 2000, the prize supports projects in construction or research that fulfill this mission.
- 2013 Prize Recipient: Liz Kee
T.Y. Lin Prize in Architecture and Engineering
A merit-based award that supports specific research proposals to study some aspect of architecture with a strong engineering component. The prize was established in 1994 through the generosity of the T.Y. Lin Foundation to support the endeavors of students who show promise and interest in integrating structural engineering and architecture.

Chester Miller Traveling Fellowship
Supports travel for thesis-related research during winter break. Recipients are selected based on the student's "excellence of purpose" for work on a graduate thesis. The fellowship was established in 1987, and is named for Chester Miller, a successful local architect during the beginning of the 20th Century.

Students may visit the CED Prizes & Awards website to learn more about Spring and Summer 2014 opportunities for undergraduate and graduates students. Applicants are encouraged to regularly check the CED Prizes & Awards Calendar for specific application requirements. A preliminary list of opportunities has been posted so that students may take advantage of the winter break to get a head start with applications. Additional opportunities will be posted at the beginning of the Spring 2014 semester.
