Congratulations to All Winners of the AIAEB 2015 Design Awards

Congratulations to all CED alumni whose work was recognized by the AIA East Bay (AIAEB) for their Design Awards Program, recognizing design excellence in architecture, residential architecture, interior architecture, restoration/renovation, and urban design.
Matthew Baran (M. Arch '08) and his firm Baran Studio Architecture, was recognized with a citation award for their project, Willow Houses, in Oakland. ELS Architecture and Urban Design received a merit award for their design of the East Oakland Sports Complex. David Baker Architects received an honor award for their Lakeside Senior Housing Project.
There were also many award winning designs designed for the UC Berkeley Campus. SmithGroupJJR designed and received a citation award for the new Energy Biosciences Building located on UC Berkeley with Loisos + Ubbelohde consulting on lighting and dayighting/shading design. SmithGroupJJR also received a merit award for the design of Chu Hall, the solar energy research center on UC Berkeley with Loisos + Ubbelohde consulting on lighting and Dayighting/shading design. EHDD worked with Behnisch Architekten and Loisos + Ubbelohde consulting on l lighting and daylighting design to receive a merit award for their design of Maximo Martinez Commons, student housing for UC Berkeley students.
