SFGATE -- 2012 marks the last of the subtle transformations to the San Francisco urban landscape, with many of them, such as green bicycle lanes and parklets, geared towards making the city and the Bay Area a more livable place. In 2013 and onwards, the San Francisco cityscape is set to transform dramatically. Major projects include the opening of the new Eastern span of the Bay Bridge, the start of the 230,000 square-foot expansion of the San Francisco Museum of Art, the construction of the 1,070-foot Transbay Tower, as well as the potential for a 17,500-seat arena for the Golden State Warriors on the Embarcadero.
