College of Environmental Design alumnus Irving Jarkovsky (BA Arch ‘49), a native of San Francisco, passed away peacefully on April 25, 2017 at the age of 95. He was married and devoted to the love of his life, Helen Jarkovsky, for 57 years.
Irving graduated from Lowell High School and was drafted into the army on his 18th birthday. He served his country in World War II, then went on to attend and graduate from UC Berkeley, majoring in architecture. He worked for many years for the City and County of San Francisco in the Department of Public Works. He had a keen eye for design working on many city buildings and projects.
His main hobby was photography. He was fortunate enough to travel with his wife extensively throughout the world, taking beautiful photographs along the way. He also enjoyed tennis, bowling, sketching and listening for long hours to music.
