AIA|LA Legislative Day at City Hall
21 November 2013
On November 21, LA AIA President Scott Johnson (B.A. Architecture '72) led the LA AIA Advocacy Platform at the 14th annual AIA|LA Legislative Day at Los Angeles City Hall. ALA|LA presented City policy makers and officials with an advocacy slate to make an environmentally and economically sustainable LA.
The "Los Angeles: Design Our Future" platform promotes legislation for major public improvements which will address important issues of the LA physical environment, including environmental health, mobility and public transit, creation of parks and open space, and preservation and adaptive re-use of existing building stock. The Ten Point Plan aims to positively impact the long-term public health of Los Angeles residents and to preserve and enhance the quality of the built and natural environment for future generations.
