The Judith Lee Stronach Undergraduate Traveling Scholarship encourages the study of new places, cultures and peoples, as well as commitment to social responsibility. Awarded each summer and winter, the scholarships are open to undergraduate students majoring in architecture, landscape architecture, urban studies, or sustainable environmental design in the College of Environmental Design at UC Berkeley.
Scholarships during the summer awards cycle specifically support travel between May 14–August 22, 2016 within the context of formal study-abroad programs, nonprofit internship/volunteer work, or fieldwork related to an undergraduate thesis. Applicants must have at least one semester remaining before graduation upon completion of the proposed travel. For more information about the scholarship program, please visit the scholarship website.
This scholarship is administered by the College of Environmental Design, which has over 100 scholarships, fellowships, prizes and awards that specifically benefit students enrolled in a degree program at CED. While the majority of awards are distributed to students based on need or merit, students may apply for approximately 30 of these awards for additional aid for tuition/fees, travel, or research. These awards also include annual design competitions. Interested applicants should check the CED Prizes & Awards Calendar for a full list of upcoming opportunities.
For non-CED sources of funding, students may refer to the Scholarship Resources for CED Undergraduates document [PDF].
