
Donlyn Lyndon, Eva Li Professor Emeritus of Architecture and Urban Design at UC Berkeley, will be giving a talk for the American Institute of Architects San Mateo Fall Lecture Series.
Donlyn Lyndon is an architect, author and educator who conducts a consulting practice dedicated to the design of buildings and landscapes as good places. His current research focus is on the structure of place and the ethical dimensions of design, and he is editor of PLACES, a journal of environmental design. Donlyn's latest book, The Sea Ranch, 50 Years of Architecture, Landscape, Place and Community, was published by Princeton Architectural Press this fall and will be available after the lecture.
Donlyn has remained active in his architectural practice at Sea Ranch, CA through a continuing series of works. In 1965 with the firm Moore Lyndon Turnbull Whitaker, he designed Condominium One, which received the distinguished AIA 25 Year Award and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. In 1997, Donlyn was honored with the AIA-ACSA's Topaz Award, the highest award in architectural education.
