Support a Diverse CED Student Body
Your generous gift to CED Big Give will enhance our ability to attract and retain talented students from diverse backgrounds. Support incoming and currently enrolled students at the College of Environmental Design by donating on Thursday, March 8, 2018 during UC Berkeley's Big Give campaign. Donate online here.
What's Big Give?
The Big Give is the UC Berkeley's one-day, crowdfunding campaign which raised $11,678,642 from 9,666 gifts across campus in 2016. As part of the camapign, CED raised $45,381 to support the renovation of the Student Hub in the 2nd floor lobby of Wurster Hall. This year, we want to double our impact and provide much-needed scholarships and fellowships for diverse undergraduate and graduate students.
What's the Diversity Fund for Student Support?
Attracting and retaining a diverse group of students in the College of Environmental Design is essential to providing a world-class design education. The College is at risk of losing the values, voices, and talent a diverse community brings to the studios and classrooms within Wurster Hall. We are working closely with the CED Students of Color group on this important initiative to create scholarships and fellowships through the CED Diversity Fund for Student Support.
How diverse is CED?
CED has the highest percentage of Pell Grant students of any College on campus, the highest percentage of under-represented minorities, and the highest percentage of international students. These students face tremendous financial pressure to pay for tuition, housing, food, and materials, and the College is committed to finding ways to help defray these costs through gifts from donors like you.
