Steven Huegli has a distinct architectural background with experience in site-specific installation work, craft, and experimental use of construction materials. His built works are wide-ranging in scale and type including cultural, education, housing, and infrastructure projects for a diverse pool of Bay Area thought leaders. Many of his projects have been recognized by local and national awards; and his representations are included in SFMOMA’s permanent collection.
Steven has a long-standing commitment to mentoring young professionals including teaching positions a California College of the Arts and University of California, Berkeley where he attended graduate school. Steven is a Principal and Studio Director at Jensen Architects, a design-oriented architecture firm exploring innovative approaches in search of design solutions that are elegant, effective, and environmentally sensitive. As Studio Director, he cultivates the firm’s design-focused culture by advancing technical knowledge and practice standards through studio-wide leadership, leveraging his recognized expertise in collaborative design processes, integrated project delivery, advanced materials and methods, detailing, and high-performance assemblies.
