Scott Cataffa is a founding partner of Plural, a landscape architecture and urban design studio in San Francisco. Prior to launching Plural, Scott was a Principal at CMG Landscape Architecture where he led a variety of complex projects, including Under Ramp Park, Dogpatch Arts Plaza, and Irishtown Bend Park. This work exemplifies Scott’s passion for improving the wellbeing of cities by transforming marginalized sites into valuable public places.
Scott approaches all of his projects with an emphasis on ecological and cultural connectivity and an understanding of place through the lens of its past and present culture. His design and research practice begins with listening to and engaging with a site’s diverse communities and focuses on the potential of the public realm to effect social and environmental justice. He is committed to making resilient places that bring people together and build social capital in our cities and neighborhoods.
