Role Before Joining MRED+D: Partnerships & Property Manager, 2B Living
Obinna is interested in the convergence of tech, affordability, and sustainable housing in urban settings and how the ever-evolving needs of all stakeholders and residents can be addressed.
Obinna has worked in last-mile development and community management, in both Nigeria and the Bay Area. He led partnerships for both corporate housing and short-term housing interests, project-managed end-of-contract construction efforts of multi-family residential units, and property managed a small portfolio of institutionally funded properties. With his business development work mainly driven by marketing, sourcing, and negotiation efforts, and his project and property management work focused on construction closeout efforts and day-to-day operations, his real estate career efforts have been geared towards bringing well-managed communities to market.
Through the MRED+D program, Obinna hopes to learn to become a cross-functional and key stakeholder when collaborating to better align the needs of residents with the goals of institutional funds and inclusive, forward-thinking city planning.
And lastly, an outside passion of Obinna’s: He loves to travel and to see how others live and commune, both differently and similarly. The exposure is like none other. It's incredible to see what the past created all over the world and how the present continues to iterate and advance.
