Role Before Joining MRED+D: Project Engineer, Truebeck Construction
Prior to joining the MRED+D program, Norris worked as a Project Engineer at Truebeck Construction for about three years. During his time at Truebeck, he managed and executed six tenant improvement projects for real estate developers in the Bay Area. Through each project, Norris was exposed to permitting processes, budgeting, design, and lease negotiations with tenants. This exposure led to a curiosity about making an impact on greater development as it directly impacts the landscape of the Bay Area.
Norris received his B.S. in Construction Management from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, and ever since he has wanted to pursue a career in construction and real estate development. Norris hopes that the MRED+D program will equip him with the tools and network necessary to have a lasting impact on Oakland and other urban areas.
On a personal note, you can expect Norris to be outdoors, enjoying a nice wine with dinner, and attending church on Sundays. Norris is always down to try new things and meet new people.
