After earning her bachelor’s degree in architecture from the University of the Andes, Michelle immediately entered the field of interior design. Working in a prestigious LATAM firm, she was able to deepen her knowledge in design. Moreover, she became familiar with coordinating large ventures, such as the One J&J campus–Bogotá or the Microsoft headquarters in Bogotá. Acting as a design manager gave Michelle the ability not only to understand and articulate clients’ and users’ needs with costs and budget, but also to handle large interdisciplinary teams. Having this work experience allowed Michelle to become an independent architect and to start structuring real estate projects in the company of an associate. In this way, she became aware of the huge possibilities and opportunities that real estate holds.
At Berkeley, Michelle looks forward to gaining new skills in the fields of finance, law, marketing, and design that will help her structure sustainable projects, which will have a positive impact on the end-users, their relationships and their communities.
Outside her academic and working career, Michelle considers herself a chemistry and astrophysics enthusiast. She also enjoys exercising, playing the guitar and spending time with family and friends.
