After seven years working in commercial real estate development and management in Mexico City and Panama City, Julian is excited to broaden his knowledge of the discipline at Berkeley MRED+D. His main interest in real estate is to bring value to properties while simultaneously improving their aesthetic and practical impact on the environment and societies that surround them. Julian has worked extensively with landmarked buildings and other structures within heritage districts to improve their commercial and cultural value while respecting the original intent of the people who built them.
While at Berkeley, Julian looks forward to immersing himself in a vibrant community of architects, designers, developers, academics and investors, and, through them, absorbing different approaches to real estate. He will also be working on enhancing skills that he has not previously studied in an academic setting, such as design, project finance and urban planning.
In his free time, Julian enjoys photography, gastronomy, hiking, playing squash and practicing yoga.
