Originally from Seattle, Davey is joining the Abbey MRED+D program after six years at WeWork, where he was an early employee and one of the company's first leasing managers. Davey built out WeWork's sales organization in the West from the ground up to over 50 locations across 10 cities, growing revenue in the region from zero to over $250M annually. Davey also spent time in China, helping to build WeWork's sales apparatus in Shanghai and Beijing.
Prior to WeWork, Davey got his B.A. in history from Whitman College and a Masters in Middle East studies from Tel Aviv University in Israel. Davey's focus is entrepreneurial development because he believes that despite the entry of large REITs and institutional investors into the business, real estate is still the turf of individual entrepreneurs. Davey bought his first single family rental property at age 20 and has been syndicating deals in the student housing market ever since. He is also currently the asset manager for a family real estate office focused on warehousing and industrial land development in Alberta, Canada and Washington state.
Outside of work, you can probably find Davey swimming laps, listening to R&B, grilling kebabs at his house in Seattle, or watching classic reruns of Law & Order.
